New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….
The original story (published October 18, 2022) follows:
The Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are now available in 17 countries around the world. The powerful new processor was custom-designed using Google AI and makes these devices faster, more efficient and more reliable.
“No Network” or “No Service” issue on Pixel 7 and 7 Pro
Now, several Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users are reporting that they are experiencing cellular connectivity issues.
Several users claim that after inserting their SIM card into their Pixel 7 or 7 Pro handsets, they can see network bars and make phone calls.
However, after a while, the cellular network becomes unavailable and they receive “No Network” or “No Service” notifications on their devices, along with frequent network outages.
I received my Pixel 7 Pro last week and the network connection keeps going to “No Service” with the exclamation mark on the signal icon. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern at all, it’s happened in various places and situations. I guess that’s the dreaded problem I read about.

Everything seems to work fine with the phone except.. shocker, phone connectivity.. connects to sim network for about 2 seconds then stops for about a minute, repeat over and over.

Another reported issue is that users are getting a “No SIM card” warning after inserting a physical SIM card. Some claim to have tried different providers and SIM cards with the same effect (1,2,3).
Other Pixel 7 users have reported experiencing “No Network” issue when switching between networks or connecting to a cellular network after leaving a Wi-Fi zone.
My first upgrade since the 4xL, and I’m a little worried about it. Whenever I leave an area with a wifi signal, like leaving my house to go to work, I notice that the mobile data doesn’t like to establish a connection on its own. I can usually fix this by toggling airplane mode for a few seconds, but I don’t think I should have to do this every time I want to restore cellular data after wifi.

Troubleshooting methods such as using a new SIM card, resetting network settings, checking network settings, and doing a full factory reset of the phones do not seem to fix this problem.
But as usual, not everyone is affected. According to Android Authority, network connectivity issues should be a thing of the past and not the Pixel 7 duo. Admittedly, this article isn’t meant to discourage new customers from buying them.
Allegedly acknowledged problem
Even better, several users have reportedly contacted Google Support, who have assured them that they are aware of the issue and that a fix is on the way. However, no ETA was provided.
Below is a screenshot of such an example:
Although Google has improved cellular connectivity in general in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices, we could be looking at another network connectivity saga similar to the Pixel 6.
That said, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the latest developments regarding the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro “No Network” or “No Service” connectivity issue and update this story as anything noteworthy arises. .
Update 1 (October 19, 2022)
2:37 p.m. (IST): According to reports (1,2,3), some Pixel devices may have come with faulty modems.
However, Google issues replacements for devices with issues with signal, network, or cellular reception.
My Pixel 7 Pro was losing signal on Voxi (Vodafone). I contacted Google and got my replacement yesterday. It had absolutely no issues with signal and data speed.
I would recommend trying to get a replacement.

Update 2 (October 20, 2022)
6:09 p.m. (IST): A potential workaround to resolve the “No Network” or “No Service” issue is to manually enter your carrier’s APN information.
You can access the APN settings as follows:
Settings -> Internet Network -> Sims -> select your SIM card -> Access Point Names

You can find your carrier’s APN data through their website or by contacting their support team.
Update 3 (October 26, 2022)
12:55 p.m. (IST): One of our readers recommends a workaround that might help solve or alleviate the problem. Basically, you need to disable “Wi-Fi Calling” option once you get “No Network” or “No Service” message.
