We know the Nets are capable of racking up big points, as evidenced by their performance against Memphis on Monday night. The problem for Brooklyn is that they struggled to stop teams early on, as the Pelicans and Grizzlies hung at least 130 points against them. It’s dangerous when you’re facing a Milwaukee team that just lost 125 to the Rockets without Middleton in the mix. Now, he won’t be back for this contest, but the fact remains that Antetokounmpo is a force all on his own, as the Rockets found out on Saturday. The Bucks feed on the home crowd and they find the cracks in the Nets’ half-court defense to deliver a win for the hosts.

Evaluation:
Brooklyn has seen the most hits in two of its three games this season over the total. Monday marked their first road contest and they topped the total by combining with the Grizzlies for 258 points against a tally of 235.5. The Nets entering Tuesday ranked below average in terms of tempo, ranking 19th in that category with 98.7 possessions per night despite their large numbers. Milwaukee has split its two games over the total and their home/road splits are wide, though some of it can be attributed to competition. Their road opener with the 76ers led to just 178 combined points well below the 224.5-point count. Meanwhile, they posted a combined 230 points in Game 1 at home with Houston, topping the tally by 228 points. The Bucks are a slow team, ranking 26th with 96.9 possessions per game. Even with that in mind, there’s offensive firepower on both sides and Brooklyn’s shaky defense on the ground. That pushes this one over the number.
