Monday News Update
Bryan and I will be back tonight for the second of three consecutive nights of Wrestling Observer Radio broadcasts. We’re doing a Tuesday show this week instead of Wednesday because of tomorrow night’s tete-a-tete.
As reported earlier today, both Paul Levesque and Bruce Prichard are not on Raw tonight. Levesque has COVID but has been in contact. Brian James directs the show. Prichard was already set to organize the show.
Raw is Oklahoma City tonight and the competition will be tough tonight. There’s no Bray Wyatt bump and they face the NFL, which is the Los Angeles Chargers against the Denver Broncos tonight, which isn’t as strong as some of the games this season, but it’s It’s also against the Yew York Yankees’ decisive game five against Cleveland Guardians on TBS at 7 p.m., which will go against the first two hours. The advance is more than 6,000 tickets released. Brock Lesnar is on tonight’s show, presumably for a showdown with Bobby Lashley, plus Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle for the US title, The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis in a match where if Miz wins, Lumis has to leave WWE forever and if Lumis wins, he gets a WWE contract, plus Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Alpha Academy and Elias returns. There’s also a Major League Baseball playoff with the Philadelphia Phillies versus the San Diego Padres, but the NBA and NHL will all be on TV tomorrow night.
We are looking for reports from Oklahoma City tonight with anything not on the live show like dark matches or main event matches or other live people ratings on [email protected]

The Wrap has a story on the ratings for WWE on 09/23, Raw on 10/10 and Extreme Rules with Paul Levesque attributing the increases to Bray Wyatt teasing.
A WWE house show scheduled for 12/27 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit is canceled and a new date has been added in the building, a taping of Smackdown on 1/20. At one point in local discussions in Atlanta, there was talk of moving the 1/1 PPV show to 12/27. As reported yesterday, Brandon Thurston reported that day one has been canceled and is not moving. WWE officials haven’t said anything but it should be noted that they have shows on 12/26 and 12/28 but nothing on 12/27 which doesn’t make sense either, especially that the week after Christmas is historically the best week for drawing at home shows all year round.
UFC fighters today received a memo saying, based on a clear directive from sports betting regulators, that all fighters are no longer allowed to bet on UFC fights, not more than the embers of their teams. CBO Hunter Campbell noted that many states have restrictions that prohibit athletes, their families and training teams from participating in any sports they play due to the possibility of having inside information. Fighters can participate in fights in other companies.
WWE was covered by CNBC today because the stock hit $76.90 per share today, the highest in over a year. This is during a bear market. We’ve been writing for months about why WWE stocks should do well against other stocks, which has to do with the fact that most of their income is guaranteed so that an economic problem won’t affect them. doesn’t hurt like most companies would. Part of this is also related to the arrival of the new income call, there is often a small acceleration leading up to the income calls.
Sammy Guevara has been hired to broadcast the 11/13 Global Titans Fight Series show in Dubai, where Floyd Mayweather fights Deji in the main event and Bobby Fish makes his boxing debut.
There is a biography of Dwayne Johnson titled “Dwayne The Rock Johnson: From WRestler to Hollywood Hero” slated for release in January.
Tony Khan will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Daily’s Place at the box office to try and boost ticket sales for the Friday Rampage live show.
