This Monday, the (1-1) Brooklyn Nets travel to Memphis, TN to take on the (2-1) Memphis Grizzlies. The whistleblowing will take place at 8:00 p.m. EST inside the FedExForum. These two teams were absent on Sunday, because they will be ready for this one. Neither of these teams will go down easily as they look to build momentum to start this regular season.
The Brooklyn Nets enter this one after defeating the Toronto Raptors, 109-105. The Nets came from behind and stole this game, as their stars came to life in the fourth quarter. They will have to be better on the defensive side of the field if they want to challenge the Grizzlies in this one.
The Memphis Grizzlies enter this one after being eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, 137-96. They will need to be better on both ends of the pitch if they are to compete with the Net’s star-studded outfit.
Looking for my best bet?
I’m (3-0) in my last three best bets, as I hammered over 50.5 points in the Seahawks vs. Chargers game yesterday. I’ll be looking to stay hot in this one, as I have total picks in the Bears vs Patriots game. I saw the table well and I will try to attack with this choice. Don’t miss! Buy my best bet and I’ll see you all back in the GREEN!
Can the nets keep rolling?
The Brooklyn Nets are (1-1) to start this season, falling to the Pelicans in the first game of the year, but rebounding against the Raptors on Friday night. They will now look for two in a row in this one. According to dunksandthrees.com, Brooklyn has an adjusted offensive rating of 111.4, which is 16th highest in the NBA. They’re scoring 108.5 points per game and shooting 46.2 percent from the field. This is the 21st most points scored per game and the 17th highest team shooting percentage. Their shooting struggles continued from behind the arc as well, as they only shoot 33.8% from deep. It’s the 25th-highest three-point shooting percentage in the NBA, as they haven’t shown their reach this season. Kevin Durant leads the Nets with 29.5 points per game. The Nets are also shooting 71.7 percent from the free throw line as they continued to drop runs on the charity strip. This is the 25th highest free throw percentage in the NBA because they have to be better off the line.
On defense, they are currently allowing 117.5 points per game, which is the 21st most in the NBA. They also allow their opponents to shoot 48.9% from the ground because they give up too many open shots. According to dunksnadthrees.com, they have the 17th highest adjusted defensive rating in the NBA. The Nets also allow opponents to shoot 42.6 percent from deep, which is the 27th-highest percentage in the league. They don’t get close to the shooters and they have a hard time sticking to their mission on the perimeter. The Nets also struggled on the glass, pulling off just 41.5 rebounds per game. It’s the 21st most in the league because they can’t allow their opponents a second or third chance to score.
Injury Report: Seth Curry (ankle) is listed day to day.
Are the Grizzlies legit?
The Memphis Grizzlies got off to a good start by winning their first two games of the season. But, they were dominated by the Mavericks on Saturday night. They will now look to bounce back in this one. Memphis is currently scoring 113.3 points per game and shooting 42.5 percent from the floor. This is the 14th-highest number of points scored per game, but only the 26th-highest team shooting percentage. They give themselves plenty of chances to score, but miss open shots and struggle to open up consistently. According to dunksandthrees.com, they have an adjusted offensive rating of 109.9, which is 19th highest in the league. Memphis also continued to drop runs on the charity strip as they are shooting just 69.7% from the free throw line. This is the 28th-best free throw percentage in the NBA because they can’t keep missing those free points and still expect to win. Ja Moran was in disbelief early on, averaging 41.5 points per game and 8.5 assists.
On the defensive side of the field, the Grizzlies have an adjusted defensive rating of 116.6, which is the 25th highest in the NBA. They’re also allowing 123.7 points per game, as they struggled to slow down opponents. Memphis is holding opponents just 45.5 percent from the field, which is the 14th-lowest shooting percentage allowed in the league. Luckily, they defended better against the three-point shot. Their opponents are shooting just 38.8 percent from deep, which is 18th at least in the NBA. The Grizzlies have also been very active on the glass, averaging 47.7 rebounds per game. It’s the 10th plus, as they continued to secure the ball after missed shots. Steven Adams leads the team with 11.5 rebounds per game.
Injury report: Dillion Brooks (thigh) is questionable. Zaire Williams (Knee) is questionable. Jaren Jackson Jr. (Football) is absent.

Evaluation:
I’ll take the Nets (+1.5) on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies. Yes, the Nets lost their first game of the season against the Pelicans, but they bounced back against the Raptors. They will now look to continue as Memphis have struggled to start this season. They currently allow the 29th-highest points per game and the 14th-highest shooting percentage. The Nets are scoring 108.5 points per game and shooting 46.2 percent from the floor. They will continue to have open eyes throughout this game and Durant and Irving will lead them to victory. The Grizzlies have also struggled on the offensive end of the field as they continue to miss open shots. They score the 14th-highest points per game, but only have the 26th-highest team shooting percentage. The Nets will continue to pressure them when they have the ball and the Grizzlies won’t score enough points to cover that gap. Ja Morant continued to carry this team to start the year, but he won’t be able to defeat this Nets team single-handedly. Memphis will be without Dillon Brooks in this game because I see Brooklyn has too much star power. Durant and Irving won’t allow them to lose, because I see them both having big games in this one.
Choose Brooklyn Tenderloins. They are the best overall team and will cover the spread (+1.5).
Prediction: Brooklyn Nets +1.5

Evaluation:
I will take the upper hand (227.5) points in this match, because none of the defenses will be able to slow down the opposing team. Brooklyn is currently allowing the 21st most points per game and giving up the 27th highest shooting percentage. They will allow the Grizzlies to find open looks all night, as Memphis will do its part to push that total over the number. The Nets also struggled to defend behind the three-point line as they give up the 27th-highest three-point shooting percentage in the NBA. The Grizzlies have the 17th highest pace rating in the NBA as they will continue to pick up the pace against the Nets. They will give themselves plenty of scoring opportunities and the Nets won’t be able to stop them consistently. Now Brooklyn will do their part to push that total over the number as well, as I see them finding open shots throughout this game. The Grizzlies allow their opponents to shoot 45.5 percent from the floor and I see Durant and Irving go in this one. They had a slow start to the season and I expect them to be very aggressive in this game. They will continue to find open shots and push that total over (227.5). Both of these defenses have continued to struggle this season and we have stars littered all over the field. There won’t be much defense played in this game and the total will exceed the number.
Pick the most and expect both teams to combine for over (227.5) points.
Prediction: Over 227.5
